Privacy Policy
Last updated October 27, 2026
SwipeHealthy is a dating platform for healthcare professionals and students. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account: name, email address, and a password (stored only as a one-way hash).
- Profile: date of birth, photos, bio, location (the city you pick, which we use to show how far away people are; we never read your device location and other members see distance between cities, never your exact location), profession, specialty, training level, and institution (you can hide your institution).
- Optional personal details: gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, politics, relationship goals, children, height, body type, languages, interests, and smoking, drinking and cannabis habits. These are sensitive. You choose whether to provide them, and you can edit or remove them at any time.
- Verification: your school or organization email address (to send you a one-time code), and optionally your NPI number.
- Messages and reports: messages you send to matches, and reports or screenshots you submit about other users.
Information collected automatically
- Activity such as swipes, matches, and when you were last active (used to show online status).
- Your IP address and technical logs, used for security and abuse prevention.
- If you enable notifications, a push-notification subscription from your browser or device.
- Usage statistics: we count how the service is used (for example sign-ups, matches and which days you were active) using our own systems. On our public pages (home, pricing, audience pages, Terms, Privacy and guidelines) we use Google Analytics to see which pages are visited and where visitors come from. It is not used on the sign-up, log-in or signed-in pages, and we do not use it for advertising or ad personalisation. If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland it stays off unless you accept it in the banner. You can also block it with your browser or a content blocker. We do not use advertising trackers. Fonts on our pages are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google when a page loads.
- Sponsored placements: Free members may see clearly labelled sponsored cards from advertisers we choose. We count only the total views and clicks for each ad per day. We do not tell advertisers who saw or clicked an ad, and ads are never targeted using your photos, messages, matches or swipes. Ads may be matched only to your credential (for example MD, RN or student), your training stage (for example MS-1 or resident) and your school, using the details you gave us, and only for groups of at least 50 members. Matching happens on our servers; we do not share who matched or who saw an ad with advertisers. Paid plans do not show ads.
- Doximity sign-in: if you choose "Verify with Doximity", Doximity tells us that you are a verified clinician and gives us your Doximity user ID, which we keep so one Doximity account cannot verify several members. We do not save your Doximity profile details. Verifying this way is free.
- Activity emails: if a match or message arrives while you are away from the app, we may email you that something is waiting. These emails never include names or message text, are spaced hours apart, and you can switch them off with the link in any of them.
- Advertiser accounts: businesses that buy ads give us a work email, company name and a password, which we store securely, and pay through Stripe. Advertisers see only daily totals of views and clicks, never who saw or clicked an ad.
- Invite links: if you use a school link or a member's invite link, we remember it until you sign up and count visits per link per day, without identifying visitors. The member who invited you can see only how many invited people were verified, never who they are.
- Payments: paid memberships are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details directly under its own privacy policy; we never see or store your card number. We keep only your Stripe customer reference and your plan status.
- Reminder emails: if you sign up but do not finish your profile, we may send up to two reminder emails. Each has an unsubscribe link. Account and security emails (codes, password resets, verification updates) are not optional.
- Verification photos and messages: if our team asks for more proof, you may send a photo of yourself holding your school or organization ID, and exchange messages with us. Photos are stored privately (not on a public web address), visible only to our verification team and to you, and deleted when you are verified, 30 days after a decision that we could not verify you, or when you delete your account. Please cover anything we do not need, such as an ID number.
- Security check: the sign-up, log-in and password-reset pages use Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated bots. Cloudflare may read technical signals from your browser to do this, under its own privacy policy. It is not used for advertising.
2. How we use it
- To run the service: show your profile to other members, suggest and create matches, deliver messages and notifications.
- To verify that members are healthcare professionals or students.
- To keep the community safe: review reports, enforce our Terms, prevent fraud and abuse.
- To send service emails, such as verification codes and password resets.
3. What other members see
Your profile (first name or display name, age, photos, and the details you choose to fill in) is visible to other verified members. We show your age, not your exact date of birth. We do not show your last name or email address to other members. Messages are visible only to you and the person you are chatting with, and to our moderation team when a message is reported.
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for advertising. We share limited data only when necessary:
- Service providers that help us operate the service (for example hosting, email delivery, and the push-notification services run by browser and device makers), only to the extent needed to provide the service. We do not use your profile, messages, or photos for advertising
- NPI registry: if you look up or add an NPI number, that number is sent to the U.S. government's public NPPES registry to retrieve public provider information.
- Legal and safety: where required by law, or to protect the safety of our members or the public.
- Business transfer: if SwipeHealthy is acquired or merges, your data may transfer subject to this policy.
5. Retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can download a copy of your data at any time from your profile screen (Download My Data; you will be asked for your password), and you can delete your account at any time from the same screen (Delete My Account). Deletion permanently removes your profile, photos, matches, messages, and swipes. Reports you submitted or that were made about you may be kept for safety and moderation, and limited records may be kept where the law requires. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis.
6. Your choices and rights
- Edit or remove profile information at any time in the app.
- Hide your institution, and turn off notifications in your browser or device settings.
- Block or report other members.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion by emailing [email protected].
Depending on where you live (including the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and certain U.S. states), you may have additional rights, such as to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of, or receive a portable copy of your data, and to withdraw consent. Where we rely on your consent, such as for sensitive details you choose to add to your profile, you can withdraw it by removing that information or deleting your account. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in U.S. state privacy laws. You can also contact your local data protection authority.
7. International use
SwipeHealthy may be used from many countries. Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries that may have different data protection rules than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

8. Security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including hashed passwords and access controls. No online service is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Age requirement
SwipeHealthy is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
10. Changes
If we change this policy in a material way, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
